'Crust & Ember Pizzeria' started with a simple aim: to bring true Neapolitan pizza to London. Established by the Smith clan in 1985, our pizzeria began as a cozy, family-run spot with recipes handed down through generations.
Oliver Smith, our founder, learned the craft during travels across Italy, studying with master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. After returning to the UK, she set out to recreate the magic of authentic Italian pizza, using time-honored techniques and premium ingredients.
What began as a small 12-seat pizzeria has blossomed into a cherished local landmark, yet our dedication to quality and authenticity has never faded. We still rely on wood-fired oven techniques, prepare our dough fresh each day, and seek out the finest ingredients available.
Today, 'Crust & Ember Pizzeria' remains a family-run operation, now led by the second generation of the Smith family. While we’ve welcomed some modern improvements, the core of our business stays the same: crafting delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
